Overview of the company

AIRLIGHT ENERGY is a private Swiss company that supplies proprietary solar technologies for large-scale production of electricity and thermal energy, and for energy storage. AIRLIGHT ENERGY has developed innovative and complete solutions for the markets of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP), Concentrated Photo Voltaic (CPV) and energy storage (Advanced Adiabatic Compressed Air Energy Storage - AA-CAES).

In a break from traditional implementations of solar concentration systems, AIRLIGHT ENERGY has started from a diametrically opposite point of view, which makes use of the strong background in civil engineering. With such an approach, AIRLIGHT ENERGY has developed completely new solutions like a novel inflated mirror trough collector with precast fiber-reinforced concrete sustaining structure, advanced CSP and CPV receivers and an extremely low-cost packed rock bed thermal energy storage (for CSP and AA-CAES). Thanks to these innovations, AIRLIGHT ENERGY is the only company on the market able to offer a complete proprietary solution both for CSP and CPV. AIRLIGHT ENERGY’s technology is designed to be highly competitive in terms of efficiency and cost of energy. All this combined with simplicity and reliability, ready to leverage the economy of scale and with minimal environmental impact.

Useful cooling

In the AIRLIGHT ENERGY CPV systems, the water that is used to cool the cells and to avoid their overheating can be conveniently exploited in additional low-temperature processes or uses, like space heating or cooling by means of absorption chillers
